The Nationalism was basically a great cause of the World War one, the reason for this is because of countries being very greedy and not even negotiating ... The Nationalist groups in Austria - Hungray and including Serbia all wanted independence. However, France wanted Alsace Lorraine back from Germany who had lost in 1871 Franco - Prussian War.
