The right to vote is important because it allows citizens of the specific nation to have a say in how their government is being ran. The U.S. Constitution has had various amendments regarding voting rights, and they were completely necessary, as many of the groups in America were being denied voting rights. With the passing of the 15th amendment, African American men were allowed to vote upon receiving freedom, and with the passing of the 19th amendment, women were given the right to vote. The Constitution contains three more amendments pertaining to voting rights, creating a more solid foundation for voting rules, such as the 26th amendment, which states one must be 18 years of age to vote. Because of the amendments regarding voting rights, the Constitution is fair to the United States's citizens.
