The difference between a community and a population, is the fact that with a community, it's usually a smaller group. Such as/for example a girlscout troop. A girlscout troop is an example of a community. A population is how many of what is in a much larger group. Such as/for example, there is an estimated total of 7 billion humans on earth. 7 billion people is the population of Earth.
