Capital punishment or death penalty can be defined as the institutionalized practice in which the persons are executed with death sentence against their heinous offences like murder, and others. The capital punishment is not successful in deterring murder, this is because of the fact that the reason for commission of such an offence can be robbery, jealousy, rivalry, revenge, property, and others. People can pay huge amount money to kill their enemy to professional killer. The professional killer for the sake of money can commit murder. So, the threat of death penalty cannot deter murder. The death penalty is ideal punishment for murder but the grounds of commission of crime must be taken care of. If a person commits the murder to save his or other person's life in danger then there should not be death penalty. But if the reason for commission of murder is any one of robbery, jealousy, rivalry, revenge, property, and others then death penalty should be imposed on under such case.
