How did immigration lead to cultural and religious diversity?

Immigration is the movement of people from other countries into this country and it is usually done because this country perceptibly has better opportunities than the one the people are moving from.  

People around the world have different religions and cultures and so when people from these different areas with different cultures move into one country, they take their traditions with them such that the country they moved into will now have so much diversity due to these different people living together and still practicing their cultures.
