A proclamation was issued by the British at the end of the Franco-Indian War.

Explanation:

With the proclamation, the British tried to ensure the safety of their own inhabitants. To that end, the British formed a border that separated the British colonies on the Atlantic coast from the territories under the control of the American Indians, located west of the Appalachian Mountains. The British thus sought to tighten control over their own territory. The proclamation of 1763 encompassed all thirteen colonies of North America.
