"Our society needs the government to regulate the economy on behalf of the general public. Our government
must protect our citizens from the greed of big business. This is so because the government is motivated by
public interest whereas the private sector (big business) is self-motivated". The Government must regulate all
areas of the economy in order to level the playing field for everyone. In order to do this, taxes must be a bit on
the higher end in order for the government to provide social programs for those in need and to help create jobs.
Having a well-funded social welfare program would increase the size of the government and the wealthy (those
who can afford it) should pay for the cost."
