Sustainable development is a socio - economic and environmental friendly long-lasting development which has a capacity to continue any development works fulfilling the present needs with considering the future generation needs also. The Nepal government has been adopting the following measures to sustainable development :

Environment Impact Assessment ( EIA ) is compulsory before implementing development projects.To enhance the efficiency and capacity of bureaucracy , an integrated development strategy action plan has been developed.The internal loan and grants related to climate change and environment protection have been included in the national budgetary system.Human activities and development activities are made towards the concept of sustainable development.The collaboration and coordination among national and international organizations and agencies have been encouraged to achieve the goal of sustainable development.Government is going to implement the principle " The one who pollutes has to pay ".
