At the age of 6, children start striving for more independence and begin creating their own personality. They'll be stubborn and want to do everything themselves even if their efforts end up futile. Younger children are more helpless and need/want more parental help. Younger children won't argue as much as a 6-year-old would and their personalities are almost completely based on what their parents want them to be.
