Explanation:

In  581 CE one commander, known then as Yang Jian the regent for the child-emperor of the Northern Zhou dynasty. Yang Jian seized government and took control of the throne and got loyalty and  support from the government officials and citizens ensuring he  keeps the throne,  Yang Jian changed the state name  to Sui  and named himself Wendi

Actions which he took to unify China was

1.As a Buddhist, He built many temples and used his religion as a form of appeal to seek peace and unity to the unified China

2. He took over Southern China  and made Northern and Southern China a Single state governed it successfully.

3.He improved the  canal systemm Grand Canal  between south and north China, making   trade between the two areas feasible which helped in the transportation of food items from south to north

4.  He reinforced and reconstructed the Great Wall in the South to  defend against enemies and expanded thier territories
