It says about 400,000 people each year die sooner than they would have without air pollution. One country may become richer from manufacturing lots of items. But pollution from factories can cause damage hundreds of miles away. Then people in a neighboring country must pay to clean up the pollution. Acid rain is a type of pollution. The pollution from gas oil, and coal build up in clouds and comes back to Earth as acid rain. Acid rain can kill animals, plants, and even entire forests. Parts of Europe still have problems with acid rain, though. Norway spends large amounts of money to clean up acid rain.
