Some psychologists have concerns regarding the addition of new disorders, such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder and binge eating disorder, to the newest edition of the DSM.
The more common concerns include all EXCEPT:

a) the impact of labeling behaviors that may be a part of a normal life as a mental illness.
b) how the diagnosis may be used in the legal system.
c) the presence of new disorders diminishes the attention given to established disorders.
d) the categorical, rather than dimensional, model of psychopathology.
