The middle eastern oil embargo was one of the most lasting issues in 70s and changed geopolitics in its wake.

Explanation:

The chosen issue was a problem in the 70s and the US government responded by making trade deals with other nations that were not in the north east to get a steady supply of oil.

b. The situation today is better and the Middle east transports oil more frequently to the US and the trade deals have been stable.

c. The current issue and the attempted solutions are now different as the situation is only tense with Iran now and Saudi Arabia is a good ally now.

the answer might be either a or c. can't be too sure , because i searched the web, but no valid answers came through.
