Erin Andrews is a sportscaster and television host

Explanation: She was filmed in  hotel while naked by a stalker, Michael Barrett. Michael Barrett found out the room she was staying in Marriott hotel, and tampered with the peephole to record videos of her which he released online.

Andrews sued Marriott hotel and Barrett for invasion of privacy and was awarded $55 million dollars, two weeks into the hearing. The jury found Marriott 49% responsible for the invasion of Andrews 'privacy and Barrett 51% responsible.

Thoughts: Marriott's defense attorneys argued that Erin Andrews' financial and professional life were not affected negatively by the video and failed to convince the jury that the hotel values the privacy of its clients. This was made worse by the fact that hotel employees gave the stalker Andrews' room number without informing her. In this case, it is easy for the jury to put themselves in Andrews' shoes and want to do anything to make sure the hotel pays for ignoring this duty to their clients, which could easily be any of them or their loved ones.
