Below is the full explanation of the economic, political and social issues about Nigeria.

1. Social: this has to do with the dethronement of the Emir of Kano by the Kano state government. The Emir ( Lamido Sanusi ll) was the former Governor of the Central Bank in Nigeria who was removed by the previous administration under former president of Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan who after his removal was nominated and became the Emir of kano.

The Kano Emirate is one of the oldest emirates in Nigeria northern areas and has a very strong tradition.

The genesis of the fall out was because the Emir failed to support the re-election of Governor Ganduje for a second term in office which after the governor won the election made him split the emirate into four to limit the powers of the kano emirate lead bu Sanusi. The former Emir was removed from office by the state Governor based on insubordination and not giving respect to the authorities of the state.

How the Emir was dethroned and removed as Emir on 09/03/2020 thereby leading to him being banished from kano to Nassarawa based on traditions that have been existing on any Emir that is dethroned.

It must be noted that Sanusi's grandfather who was also an Emir was also removed. The government has since appointed the new Emir in the persons of Emir Ado Bayero who was the son of the late Emir that Sanusi took the throne from after his death.

2. Political: Nigeria in limbo after it was banned by the American government on the list that relates to travel ban. The white house made it clear that countries from five different counties including Nigeria have been banned from for Visas to enter the United States permanently. This ban was based on the failure of Nigeria to share and comply with sharing information and details on security which the US sees as a terror risk to their country thereby leading to the ban.  SOURCE: Al Jazeera News

3. Economic: Anxiety has risen in Nigeria's economy over the uncertainty caused by the fall out of talks between Russia and Opec. The price in crude oil went down as a result of the OPEC (Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries) and some of the major allies are unable to conclude cuts in production.

This fall in price as a result of the failure on the side of Russia who did not reduce supply despite the outbreak of the Corona Virus. i

There has been a previous agreement in the meetings held in Vienna on how to cut supply with a combined output of 1.5millions barrel per day but in a twist, the Russia mister said the meeting ended in a deadlock thereby ending in a stalemate and resulting in the drop of oil price in the international market which will affect the economy of Nigeria.
