The woman who filed the lawsuit against Henry Wade was Norma McCorvey. When McCorvey was pregnant in her 20s in 1969, he opted for abortion. But at that time abortion was legal only if it was the case for woman's safety. Since McCorvey could not afford to take care of children she had to give her children for adoption after every delivery.
