Family planning can be explained as the methods which allow or enable people to be able to determine or give birth to the desired number  of children and determine the spacing of the children.

It has been made known that access to safe , voluntary family planning is a human right for everyone.

Family planning can be achieved through the use of contraceptive and probably, the treatment of infertility.

Some of the methods of achieving family planning include

* Hormonal contraceptionuse of pills or injections

* Use of condoms

* Vasectomy

* Implant uterine device , IUD, among others .

Family planning is very important because, it prevents unintended pregnancy, thereby reducing the need for abortion , which can lead to the death of the mother.  It also reduces mortality rate.

It should be noted that family planning has some side effect like

* dizziness,

* bleeding between periods

* mood change, among others.
