it is Law that is enacted with a reason to check the President's power over conflict without the approval of congress. it was enacted in October 1973 by the 93rd  U.S Congress. It was passed by congress in the response to bombing over Cambodia by U.S president Richard Nixon. The purpose behind the enactment of this law is to limit the president's power over conflict with any foreign country.
