The unconscious mind is also part of our minds. But it is not in the awareness. The unconscious mind has been compared with the Iceberg under the water.

Below the surface of the water will indicate the unconscious part of the brain and above the surface of the water will indicate the conscious part of the mind.

In psychoanalytical theory, Freud believed that our emotions, feelings, and desires are repressed in the unconscious mind. Freud believes that sometimes the slip of tongue and our dream lead to our repressed feelings, emotions, and desires.  

Thus as indicated above the psychoanalytical part will lead to our childhood experience.
