Mummification was carried out by a specific professional. After removing the viscera, the person's remains were rested in a mixture containing sodium carbonate and water. After immersion, various substances and herbs were introduced into the body to prevent tissue deterioration. In the final stage of the procedure, the deceased was bandaged and covered with a glue that prevented air contamination.
