when the son was able to walk and work with him, abraham saw a vision about sacrificing his son, ishmael. when they both had submitted their will to god and were ready for the sacrifice, god told abraham he had fulfilled the vision, and provided him with a ram to sacrifice instead. god promised to reward abraham.   noah built an altar to the lord; he took one of each kind of ritually clean animal and bird, and burned them whole as a sacrifice on the altar. i think it is true, i don't think christians can show the same commitment as they did because our world has become so corrupt these days! we can't do what they did because it would be hard to sacrifice a kid on the altar. and the other thing is noah sacrificed animals and i don't think people could do that.
