Explanation:

Town meeting is the meeting constituting the individual taxpayers of the town and the legislative authority of the town where they discuss in creation of local governing policies.

There are two types of town meeting, open town meeting and representative town meeting. In open type of town meeting, all the registered voters or taxpayers can cast their vote to form legislature for the town.

Whereas, in representative type of town meeting, the representative elected by the individual voters represents the whole voters and acts on behalf of them o form legislature.
