" jonah answered, "throw me into the sea, for i know that because of me this great storm is on you." so they threw jonah into the sea, and the sea immediately ceased its raging. then yahweh prepared a great fish to swallow up jonah, and jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. jonah felt remorse, and he repented to yahweh, saying, "i called to yahweh because of my affliction." yahweh spoke to the fish, and it released jonah on dry land. then yahweh spoke to jonah again, "go to nineveh and tell them the message that i give you." so jonah arose and went to nineveh, according to yahweh's directions. 9 what does the story reveal about human character? a. people are often willing to do others good when everyone benefits. b. it is important to to do the right thing even when the cost is high. c. few people will tell the truth if it means that they will face danger. d. some people will do whatever they want no matter the consequences.
