On thursday, march 4, 2010, two days after the 2010 texas primary elections, the lubbock avalanche journal published the following letter to the editor:
nt gop candidates on demo ballot
i'm a registered democrat, as is my mother. on the
primary ballot we did not have choices of
republican or democrat, only democrat. there
were no republican candidates. we pick the best
person regardless of party. we were robbed of that
choice.
the polling place people said, "you will still get to
vote on the one you want when it comes down to it."
what is a down to it? " we could choose the
democratic candidate) for sheriff or not. what is
this? we are citizens of the state of texas, usa. we
have the right to vote for any person we want,
regardless of party.
this time we were steered for democratic party
needs. it is no longer of the people, it is "of the
party." investigate this. it is ilegal to
influence a vote in the united states. our
constitutional rights were denied.
knowing what you do about the texas political system, and particularly primary elections in texas, point out some of the factual errors and misunderstandings contained in this letter to the editor. six (6) points credit available.
