I would take Mrs. Dubose. Mr dubose was a rigid, harsh, angry and irritated woman, who always yell and interrogates people who pass by them with weird words and eyes and attitudes. This is what her appearance is in front of people. Scout and Jem thought her to be naturally mean and a negative person. But reality was different. She was on morphine for the last many many years due to the uncontrollable pain she has. She took morphine as a pain killer for years. Doctors had only this solution for her, and she would have to take this until her death. So the reality was that she was not mean or a negative person, rather she was on a drug which made her so weird that people assumes her to be mean and a negative human being.
