Explanation:

Every living organisms in this world will have a place in a power hierarchy called a food chain. (The higher you are in the food chain, the lesser the amount of other organisms that can consume you as food). But, since there is no organisms that can consume all other organisms without exception, an environment typically consist of several food chains with different types of organism.

The food web in this context is term that we use to define that collection of different food chains that exist in one environment.
