Democracy and dictatorship are two very different systems of government, however they do have some similarities. A democracy is a system where the citizens under the government most often elect representatives to a seat, giving them a decision-making power. It also often includes checks ans balances. Dictatorship, however, is when one person takes over a country and rules on their own, often without consideration for the wishes of that government's citizens. These two systems do have some things in common, though, the main thing being the fact they can both go horribly wrong, or be great for the people. Napoleon of France was a dictator who did many good things for the people, while slavery existed in the democratic United States. The will of the majority and the will of one can both do wrong, showing how these systems, and others, are similar.
