Opec it's not a political organization, it's purpose is to unify and coordinate the petroleum policies among it's member countries. Opec was created to secure an efficient and economic way to distribute petroleum to the consumer, it negotiates treaties among it's members but it's not of a political nature, more of an economical and energetical one.
