people settle in areas with many natural resources because there towns grow and the economy is strong, providing a high standard of living.

People choose to settle in these areas Because of the abundant natural resources. They are able to use the resources, as well as sell them for a profit. They can get what they want, and survive if not on these resources, but because of them. Natural resources can be extremely helpful.
