Foods that the Food and Drug Administration regulate are bottled water, food additives and baby formulas as well as dietary supplements.  The United States Department of Agriculture monitors and regulates foods such as dairy products, vegetables, fruits, grains that have been harvested by farms. 

The USDA is responsible for regulating meat and agricultural products. Examples include cuts of beef and produce like spinach. The FDA is responsible for regulating other food and health-related items. Examples include processed foods and diet pills.
