Why does the government need to collect taxes apex?

The government levies taxes as a way of collecting revenue to fund the services that it delivers to its citizenry. The government plays a key role in provision of public goods including law enforcement, building infrastructure and defending the nation through military defense. All this services are paid for by the citizens through taxes.
