Why is it sometimes difficult to make decisions involving economic development and the environment

Resource use always jeopardize the environment

Economic development relies on exploitation of resources. A tough balancing is never possible which results to environmental degradation. Policy makers are however unable to define what is environmentally sustainable while maintaining healthy levels of resource use and exploitation.
