Why do all the electrons in an iron atom not settle together into the lowest energy state? because.?

Electrons in an iron atom (or in any atom) cannot settle all together into the lowest energy state because of Pauli exclusion principle: this principle  states that two or more identical fermions (and so, electrons included) cannot occupy the same quantum state of a system at the same time.
