What makes a scientifically sound experiment?

Ascientific experiment should either prove or disprove a hypothesis, and to do that it should be ensured that it tests the hypothesis adequately. the results of the experiment must be measurable and objective. it should make use of standard units for measurements. the experiment must be repeatable and the results reproducible by other scientists under the same conditions. a control experiment should be done with the original experiment to identify any other variables that might be affecting the results.
