Scientists always prove or disprove their explanations by?

They do this by gathering evidence to prove or disprove the theory 

For me a person with a phd and who knows what there talking about.i know the chances of a radiation leak is low but if it does the area within a 96.3 mile radius would be unusable because of contamination

The answer is water molecules are split.cellular respiration and photosynthesis are complement  reactions to each other. these are reverse reactions. in cellular respiration glucose and oxygen yield water and carbon dioxide. so, when respiration begins,  glucose molecules are split. in the opposite reaction - in photosynthesis, carbon dioxide and water yield glucose and oxygen. thus,  when respiration begins, water molecules are split.
