Earth formed in layers because the various materials that made up early Earth were different temperatures. How might the formation of Earth have been different if all of the materials were the same temperature? If the temperature of early Earth had been uniform, or the same throughout, the Earth would have formed more layers. If the temperature of early Earth had been uniform, or the same throughout, the Earth would have been a gas giant. The temperature is irrelevant. Only gravity caused Earth to form in layers, and it would have made no difference if the temperature of early Earth were uniform throughout.
