5. Low temperatures of frozen soil and ice can protect and preserve the re organisms from decay. Global warming is causing the global temperatures to rise. Wow
will global warming affect the preservation of fossils buried in frozen soil or ice?
a. As the soil warms and then ice melts bacterial will be able to grow which will
breakdown the organic material of the fossil and destroy it.
b. The water inside the soil and ice will melt making it easier for paleontologists to
find and remove the fossils from the earth.
Global warming will not effect the preservation of fossils because they are buried
in the earth.
d. When all the water melts it will evaporate creating a dry climate which will turn
the frozen fossil into a mummy.
