3. A 45,000 kg rocket is at rest lying on the ground pointing westward. The rocket engines are touching a 2,300 kg mobile cart that is also at rest pointing in the other direction. When the rocket engines fire an impulse is
produced from 840,000 N of force for a period of 1.3 seconds.
a. Solve for the impulse (J = Fxt). This is also the change in momentum.
b. What is the final speed of the rocket? [ Ap = m(vp-v) ]
C. What is the final speed of the cart? (both the rocket and the cart have the same change in momentum)
