What could be done to make present nonrenewable energy resources last longer? ?

Think of it as if it were your bank account. 

The nonrenewable-energy-resource account never grows
because nobody is putting any money INTO it ... that's why
it's called "nonrenewable".

The only way to make it last longer is to take money out of it slower.

Think of that next time you leave your bedroom light on
and go to sleepover at your friend's house.

Think of that next time you're sitting at a railroad crossing
and keep your car's engine running while a two-mile-long train
passes by.
