1. A uniform magnetic field , with magnitude 1.2 mT, is directed vertically upward throughout the volume of a laboratory chamber. A proton with kinetic energy 5.3 MeV enters the chamber, moving horizontally from south to north. What magnetic deflecting force acts on the proton as it enters the chamber? Draw the direction of the magnetic field, the direction of the velocity, and the direction of the magnetic force on the charge when it enters the laboratory chamber . I recommend to draw the picture from above. The proton mass is 1.67x10^-27 kg. (Neglect Earth's magnetic field.) (1.6 x 10^-13 J/ MeV)
