An iron bolt of mass 65.0 g hangs from a string 35.7 cm long. The top end of the string is fixed. Without touching it, a magnet attracts the bolt so that it remains stationary, but is displaced horizontally 28.0 cm to the right from the previously vertical line of the string. The magnet is located to the right of the bolt and on the same vertical level as the bolt in the final configuration topper.
(a) Draw a free-body diagram of the bolt.
(b) Find the tension in the string.
(c) Find the magnetic force on the bolt.

Several processes form metal ore. match each process to its description. volcanic activity weathering hydrothermal energy rocks break down as they interact with air and water. arrowright density differences and other factors cause metals to concentrate in igneous rocks. arrowright seawater heats up from contact with hot rock, and metals dissolve in it. the water rises and contacts cooler water, causing metal ores to settle on the ocean floor. arrowright

Mass (kg) force (n) 5 25 10 50 15 75 20 100 a student was trying to find the relationship between mass and force. he placed four different masses on a table and pulled them using a spring scale. the table shows the different masses used in the experiment and the force required to pull each mass. the student concluded that more force was required to pull heavier objects. what comment would you make regarding his conclusion? a) no clear relation can be observed between mass and force from the data. b) there is a direct proportion between the mass and force listed in the table. c) gravity should have been taken into account while performing the experiment. d) there is an inverse proportion between the mass and force listed in the table.
