The school district is considering not having bus stops and just having buses travel at 10 mph constant speed without stopping and having students hop on the moving bus. If we forget about the danger of this idea would it save time? Currently the bus stops 5 times per mile, assume that stops are equal distance apart. Each stop takes approximately 2 minutes. Between stops the bus can accelerate to 30mph. How many seconds would it take for the bus moving at a constant speed of 10mph to complete the route? How many seconds would it take for the bus making 5 stops accelerating to 30mph between each stop? (we are going to assume constant acceleration and the route is just 1 mile long).
