A 0.75 kg toy car moving with a speed of 3 m/s to the right collides with a 0.25 kg toy car moving with a speed of 3 m/s to the left. The two collide and the 0.25 kg toy car ends with a speed of 5 m/s to the right. What is the final speed of the 0.75 kg car? Is this collision elastic? Explain.

Ablock of mass m slides on a horizontal frictionless table with an initial speed v0 . it then compresses a spring of force constant k and is brought to rest. the acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s2. how much is the spring compressed x from its natural length? 1) x = v0*sqrt(k/(mg)) 2) x=v0*sqrt(m/k) 3) x=v0*((mk)/g) 4) x=v0*sqrt(k/m) 5) x=v0*(m/kg) 6) x=v0*sqrt((mg)/k) 7) x=(v0)^2/(2g) 8) x=v0*(k/(mg)) 9) x=(v0)^2/(2m) 10) x=v0*((mg)/k)

Global warming will produce rising sea levels partly due to melting ice caps but also due to the expansion of water as average ocean temperatures rise. to get some idea of the size of this effect, calculate the change in length (in m) of a column of water 1.45 km high for a temperature increase of 1.12Β°c. assume the column is not free to expand sideways. as a model of the ocean, that is a reasonable approximation, as only parts of the ocean very close to
