Koto's average velocity was 4.5 m/s. She started at her house and traveled 15000 meters north, 5000 meters east, 20000 meters south, and then 5000 meters west. What was the time of her trip? (There are 60 seconds in 1 minute.) I'm confused, I just want to know why you subtract the meters she traveled 45000 not 5000, I know it has to do with the directions but why would you subtract them if she already traveled them.
