PLEASE HELP ME WITH PHYSICS A crate, which has a mass of m1 = 6.13 kg is moving towards the right with a velocity of v1 = 12.6 m/s when it collides elastically with a second crate which has a mass of m2 = 11.38 kg, and is moving toward the right with a velocity of v2 = 7.35 m/s. After the collision m2 slides up a frictionless hill until it reaches a height of h where it briefly stops and m1 rebounds to the left as shown with a new velocity v3. (10 points) a) What is the momentum of m1 before the collision ? b) What is the total momentum of this system before the crates collide? c) What will be the total momentum of this system immediately after the crates collide? Suppose that the collision between these two crates is elastic. d) What will be the velocity of each of these two crates immediately after the collision ? e) What will be the magnitude of the impulse delivered to m2 by its collision with m1 f) If these two crates were in contact for 0.025 seconds, what average force was applied to mass m2 by mass m1 during the collision ? g) How high up the slope h will the mass m2 slide before it momentarily stops? Suppose that m1 runs into mass m2 and sticks to it. h) What will be the final velocity of these two crates immediately after the collision ?

Imagine you are riding on a yacht in the ocean and traveling at 20 mph. you then hit a golf ball at 100 mph from the deck of the yacht. you see the ball move away from you at 100mph, while a person standing on a near by beach would observe your golf ball traveling at 120 mph (20 mph + 100 mph). now imagine you are aboard the hermes spacecraft traveling at 0.1c (1/10 the speed of light) past mars and shine a laser from the front of the ship. you would see the light traveling at c (the speed of light) away from your ship. according to einstein’s special relativity, how fast will a person on mars observe the light to be traveling? a) 0.1c (1/10 the speed of light) b) c (the speed of light) c)1.1c (c+0.1c)

With the simplified model of the eye, what corrective lens (specified by focal length as measured in air) would be needed to enable a person underwater to focus an infinitely distant object? (be careful-the focal length of a lens underwater is not the same as in air! assume that the corrective lens has a refractive index of 1.62 and that the lens is used in eyeglasses, not goggles, so there is water on both sides of the lens. assume that the eyeglasses are 1.90
