If an experiment disproves a scientist's hypothesis, what should the scientist do next?

If the experiment disproves their hypothesis then they would need to record the hypothesis before the experiment then they would record how they set up the experiment listing the control group and the test group. also recording where the experiment took place and what other factors may have effected it. example temperature, climate changes, and any other forces they may have had an effect on it. they must also have recorded observations and all other data.

Next step compare their findings to other scientists published findings. The next step would be to redo the experiment just incase they missed a step or added a step that others did or did not do. Or publish their findings to get feedback on them.
