Pada saat musim dingin, suhu udara di luar rumah adalah 5oC, dan suhu di dalam rumah adalah 10oC. Rumah tersebut di panaskan dengan mesin pemanas dengan system radiator dan

menggunakan steam sebagai fluida kerjanya. Untuk mendistribusikan udara panas, radiator

menggunakan kipas dan membutuhkan kerja 360 kJ/h. Panas yang hilang ke lingkungan akibat

proses perpindahan kalor adalah 5000 kJ/h. Hitung berapa waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk

memanaskan rumah tersebut menjadi 20oC. Analogi energy balance seperti pada gambar

dibawah ini.

Asumsi :

• Perubahan energi kinetic dan potensial diabaikan atau = 0

• Tekanan atmosfer 101 kPa

• Rumah di asumsikan tertutup sempurna dan tidak ada perpindahan massa dari rumah

ke lingkungan

• Mesin pemanas berjalan sempurna tanpa losses
