CER – Charged Particles and Magnetic Forces Claim: Forces between charged particles can be compared to magnetic forces. Evidence: The north pole of one magnet is attracted to the south pole of another magnet. North poles are repelled by other north poles, and south poles are repelled by south poles. In charged particles, positive charges are attracted to a negatively charged particles while negative particles repel other negatively charged particles.

Reasoning: Select the best reasoning based on the Claim and Evidence.

Like charges attract and opposite charges repel.

The North poles of magnets are like negative charges in which the are attracted to the South poles of a magnet or positively charged particles.

The North poles of magnets are attracted to positively charged particles and South poles of magnets are attracted to negatively charged particles.

They are not at all similar.
