You are watching your friends car race northwest down a straight track. The car travels the track in 5 seconds. You are positioned 30 meters west of the start of the track, and 40 meters south of the finish line. Your friend wants you to record some information about their car. 1. What was the average velocity of their car?
2. Assuming the car started at a velocity of 0 m/s and constantly accelerated until it reached the finish line, what was the final velocity of the car?
3. Continuing the assumptions, what was the acceleration of the car?
4. If the car then applied its brakes, decelerating at 4 m/s2, how far would the car travel before stopping?
