After adding the ice, they noticed the soup became watery and did not taste very good. They
wanted to figure out a way to quickly cool the soup but not water it down. They had two
separate ideas. The older brother wanted to place the entire bowl into the freezer and let it sit
for 2 minutes. The younger brother wanted to divide the soup into two smaller bowls and then
place both of them in the freezer for 2 minutes.
Describe how you could use science ideas and tools to decide which brother has the better
method of cooling their soup. As you explain your answer, talk about energy and explain how it
moved.
